Texas State Technical College (TSTC)

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) West Texas, located in Sweetwater, plays a pivotal role in the region’s educational and economic landscape. Recognizing the need to expand its offerings and better serve the community, TSTC partnered with Sweetwater Economic Development (SEED) to secure critical funding for a new state-of-the-art transportation training facility.

SEED provided a matching grant of $325,000, which helped TSTC secure additional funding for the $3.5 million facility. This investment has significantly enhanced TSTC’s ability to train and equip students with the skills needed in today’s competitive job market, particularly in the high-demand transportation sector.

Currently, TSTC West Texas employs 91 people at its Sweetwater campus, contributing not only to the local economy through job creation but also by fostering a skilled workforce that supports the region’s industries. This collaboration between SEED and TSTC underscores Sweetwater’s commitment to education and economic development, ensuring a brighter future for the community.
