Logistics Support
Headquartered in Orange, Texas, Logistics Support Inc. sought to enhance its operational efficiency by securing a lease agreement with Sweetwater Economic Development (SEED) for two diesel locomotives. These locomotives were crucial for transporting railcar units from the BNSF switching yard in Sweetwater to the Buzzi Unicem cement plant in Maryneal, Texas, significantly improving logistics and reducing shipping costs by qualifying for BNSF’s shipping programs.
SEED facilitated this initiative by purchasing the two diesel locomotives at a cost of up to $575,000 and leasing them to Logistics Support Inc. This strategic partnership not only improved the company’s operational capabilities but also leveraged Sweetwater’s rail infrastructure to stimulate economic growth and job creation in the area.
Logistics Support Inc. successfully met all contractual obligations two years ahead of schedule, highlighting the effectiveness of this collaboration. This success story underscores SEED’s commitment to fostering business growth and enhancing Sweetwater’s position as a strategic hub for logistics and transportation.
