All-Abilities Playground Equipment

In 2023, SEED took a pivotal step in enhancing the quality of life for its residents by supporting significant improvements at Newman Park. This initiative was part of a broader community effort to expand and upgrade recreational facilities in Sweetwater, as outlined in the city’s Comprehensive Plan, which highlighted the community’s desire for improved outdoor spaces.

The project at Newman Park was made possible through a powerful partnership between a generous donor, SEED MDD, the City of Sweetwater, and the Nolan County Foundation. SEED committed $50,000 towards purchasing and installing new playground equipment, aligning with our mission to support community-enhancing projects. The Nolan County Foundation, a very generous donor, and the City of Sweetwater also played a crucial role by providing additional funding and services to ensure the project’s success.

The Newman Park improvement project is a testament to what can be achieved when public and private entities unite with a common goal. It underscores the power of community partnerships in creating spaces that foster connection, promote well-being, and contribute to the overall vibrancy of Sweetwater.
