Southwood Terrace

In 2022, Sweetwater Economic Development (SEED) recognized the need to further expand the housing options in the Southwood Terrace Addition, an area vital to the city’s growth and business development. Having previously partnered with Bentgrass of Texas Inc. to successfully construct nine new homes in this area, SEED identified that additional infrastructure improvements, specifically to the waterline system, were essential for continued development.

To address this need, SEED and Bentgrass entered into a new incentive agreement, authorizing $156,600 in funding to enhance the waterline infrastructure in Southwood Terrace. This strategic investment not only facilitated the completion of necessary utilities and road construction but also paved the way for the next phase of housing development in the area.

The successful implementation of this waterline project exemplifies how targeted infrastructure investments can stimulate residential growth, attract new businesses, and contribute to the overall economic vitality of Sweetwater. By partnering with private enterprises like Bentgrass, SEED continues to drive development that meets the needs of the community and fosters long-term economic prosperity.
