Wind Energy Turbine Services (WETS), a Sweetwater-based company, was founded by a group of four local electrical service professionals with a vision to support the growing wind energy industry. Recognizing the potential of this new venture, Sweetwater Economic Development (SEED) played a crucial role in getting WETS off the ground by providing a full-time employee (FTE) incentive of $3,000 per FTE.

Thanks to this support, WETS has rapidly expanded and now employs over 70 people at its Sweetwater location. The company’s growth not only highlights the thriving wind energy sector in the region but also exemplifies the success that can be achieved through strategic partnerships and targeted economic development initiatives.
