EMA Electromechanics
EMA Electromechanic LLC, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, specializes in manufacturing circuit breakers and grounding switches for the renewable energy sector. Since establishing a presence in Sweetwater in 2009, EMA has steadily grown thanks to a strong partnership with Sweetwater Economic Development (SEED). Initially, SEED supported EMA by constructing a 20,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, which has since been expanded twice to accommodate the company’s growing operations.
To further support EMA’s growth, SEED provided a $286,000 operating capital loan, enabling the company to enhance its production capabilities. By May 2023, EMA’s workforce had expanded to 43 employees, reflecting the company’s ongoing success and its need for even more space. Recognizing this, SEED offered an additional $450,000 in incentives to help offset wage differences between Sweetwater and other competing locations and to fund the construction of a new 34,000-square-foot facility.
This expansion is set to further solidify EMA’s operations in Sweetwater, enabling the company to become more vertically integrated in its manufacturing processes. With this growth, EMA plans to hire at least 30 more employees, contributing to local job creation and economic development. As of July 2024, construction of the new facility is well underway, underscoring EMA’s commitment to Sweetwater and the region’s bright industrial future.
