MIESHA ADAMES COMPLETES BASIC ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COURSE
Sweetwater, Texas April 2021—Miesha Adames, SEED MDD Director of Marketing & Administration, was recently awarded a certificate for completing the Basic Economic Development Course (BEDC) conducted through a partnership between the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Services and the Texas Economic Development Council. The Basic Economic Development Course is accredited by the International Economic Development Council and focuses on the fundamental concepts, tools and skills needed to be successful in today’s political, economic and business environment. The BEDC is the first step toward a professional certification for economic developers.
Miesha stated, “The course was loaded with information I will continue to use throughout my professional career. Subjects such as workforce development, business retention and expansion, retail and economic development, and strategic planning were discussed. It was defiantly an overload of information, but I always enjoy expanding my knowledge.” Miesha plans to attend other courses that are accredited by the International Economic Development Council to become a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD).
Ken Becker, SEED MDD Executive Director, stated, “We are pleased with Miesha’s desire to continue learning about Economic Development and her ability to transfer that knowledge to our day to day dealings with current and new companies in the Sweetwater market.”
