US shale oil output to decrease by 20,000 barrels per day in Dec.

US shale oil production in December is expected to decline by 20,000 barrels a day, less than in November, for a total of 4.498 million barrels a day, according to a report by the Energy Information Administration. Output in the Permian Basin is forecast to climb by 27,000 barrels a day, while production at Texas' Eagle Ford and North Dakota's Bakken Shale plays will likely fall by 33,000 barrels a day and 14,000 barrels a day, respectively. Trump win, OPEC deal boost US shale producers' confidence

US shale producers are adding rigs and putting capital back to work as their outlook improves in the wake of President-elect Donald Trump's win and amid prospects of a production cut deal by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries. Occidental Petroleum, Chevron, Pioneer Natural Resources and ConocoPhillips are among the firms that have stepped up rig deployments or plan to do so. Reuters (11/14)
