EMA Electromechanics celebrates production of 1500 units at its Sweetwater, TX facility

PRESS RELEASE

EMA Electromechanics celebrates production of 1500 units at its Sweetwater, TX facility.

Founded in Argentina, currently with industrial plants in Texas and Buenos Aires, selling its products all over the continent, for over 65 years EMA has been involved in the production of low, medium and high voltage equipment for generators, transport, and distribution of electric power.  Due to the demand from Wind and Solor Energies, EMA opened a facility in the US to provide Medium Voltage equipment for Central and North American markets.

After reaching an agreement with SEED in August 2009, EMA began construction of 20,000 square feet, brand new facility, for the manufacturing of its VDH & VDH/GSMI product line.  EMA started operations in June of 2010 with 13 employees, eight years later; it has doubled its workforce, and added another 10,000 square foot building in 2017.

This September EMA reached the milestone of 1,500 MV circuit breakers (VDH/GSMI & VDH) manufactured in its Sweetwater facility since the opening.  Currently, EMA MV ciruit breakers are installed in 35 of the 50 states of the US, as well as countries like Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Ecuador, and Columbia.

As of June 30, 2018, almost one-third of the 90,005 MW of installed wind capacity in the US is equipped with VDH/GSMI, making EMA the largest supplier of MV equipment for wind in the US and one of the main players worldwide.

EMA keeps increasing its leadership through hard work and innovation, with a goal to grow in both domestic and foreigh markets, employing and generating new opportunities for the West Texan workers.
