Bridge Replacement - Detour off of West Broadway onto FM 170

Here are a few updates that will affect transportation in and around the Sweetwater area.

1) The World's Largest Rattlesnake Round Up takes place at the Nolan County Coliseum Complex on March 9-12, 2017.  The major traffic issues will be on Elm Street, FM 1544, and FM 419.  The traffic from the round up, carnival, and cook-off is concentrated on Elm Street and FM 419 and near the intersection of Elm and FM 1544.  The carnival is located across from Cape & Son and the entrance to the BNSF transload facility where Vulcan and FairmountSantrol is located.  There will be a lot of vehicles with many adults and children walking and not watching for traffic.  BE SAFE!

2) Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) will be rebuilding the bridge over the UP Railroad on West Broadway.  The bid should be let in August of 2017 with construction starting in November or December of 2017.  The estimated completion time, per TXDOT, is 8 to 12 months.  Attached are several pictures on the detour routes.  The designated detour route is FM 170.  It will be best to use Exit 240 on I-20 to access FM 170.  The access road in front of Nine (Crest) and Washita Valley pipe will remain open.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Larissa or I.  My cell number is 325-998-4020.
