Big Country Manufacturing Alliance is awarded Advance TogetherTM Grant that Helps Texas Communities Build a Brighter Economic Future

Big Country - A regional, voluntary alliance of manufacturers that supports stability and growth of manufacturing in the Big Country, the Big Country Manufacturing Alliance (BCMA) is pleased to announce its selection as one of nine Advance TogetherTM grantees that will receive guidance and funding to help move forward. BCMA is working at the regional level through cross-sector collaborations focused on workforce development and/or education.

“BCMA provides a strong collaborative setting for our manufacturing industry partners and support partners in workforce, education and economic development to grow and enhance regional manufacturing. Through this unique partnership we are creating a better understanding of what manufacturing means to our economy, communities, and families. The Advance TogetherTM grant allows the BCMA to further our goals and increase awareness of careers and job opportunities available in local and regional manufacturing,” states Thomas Taylor, Chair, Big Country Manufacturing Alliance.

The COVID-19 crisis underscores the importance of economic resilience—the ability to recover from a disruption. Promoting economic resilience is a key focus of Advance TogetherTM, a new initiative of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas in partnership with Educate Texas and United Ways of Texas.

As an Advance TogetherTM grantee, BCMA will strengthen our ability to build a brighter economic future for the communities we serve. Though this initiative was launched before the COVID-19 crisis began, the training Advance TogetherTM provides will help us adapt our strategies in response to the pandemic.

Advance TogetherTM, funding partner Rich Gergasko, President and CEO of Texas Mutual states, “When Texas employers have access to skilled and educated talent, it strengthens our

communities and helps businesses thrive. Our collaborative efforts will play a crucial role in expanding educational opportunities for all Texans.”

The BCMA has a strong focus on business – education partnerships, business to
business connections, and training. BCMA membership is open to any manufacturer in the Big Country region. For more information, visit the website at bcmatexas.org.
