Thank you for registering for the 2016 North Texas Regional 60x30TX Workshop to be held on October 5 in Lubbock. This workshop is co-hosted by the Texas Tech University and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, with grant support from Lumina Foundation and the College for All Texans Foundation. Please visit our website at http://www.thecb.state.tx.us/NorthTX.60x30TX, where you will find confirmation of final speakers, speakers’ biographies, the workshop agenda, and session handouts. Please note that in the interests of conserving paper we will only provide hard copies of the agenda and regional data handout on site.

Workshop Details

Location: Texas Tech University, International Cultural Center (Hall of Nations)

601 Indiana Avenue, Lubbock, Texas 79409 Time: 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

When you arrive next Tuesday morning, you will be pre-assigned to a specific set of breakout sessions focused around the four major goals of the 60x30TX plan:

  1. By 2030, at least 60 percent of Texans ages 25-34 will have a certificate or degree.
  2. By 2030, at least 550,000 students in that year will complete a certificate, associate, bachelor’s, or master’s from an institution of higher education in Texas.
  3. By 2030, all graduates from Texas public institutions of higher education will have completed programs with identified marketable skills.
  4. By 2030, undergraduate student loan debt will not exceed 60 percent of first-year wages for graduates of Texas public institutions.

You will be participating in breakout sessions with education stakeholders from multiple sectors in the High Plains, Northwest, and West Texas Higher Education Regions – representatives of universities, community and state colleges, technical colleges, K-12 independent school districts, chambers of commerce and businesses, workforce development organizations, and nonprofits that support education. Please come prepared to discuss the challenges, opportunities, and solutions to meeting the goals and targets of the new higher education plan from your particular organization’s discipline or viewpoint. Your ideas for strategies are particularly welcome.

Thank you very much for registering for the 2016 North Texas Regional 60x30TX Workshop! We will look forward to seeing you soon. Hope this helps!
